He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

This scene is the clearest Old Testament prefiguration of the Gospel feeding miracles (Matt. 14:13–21; John 6:1–14): insufficient provision, a doubtful servant, a prophetic command to distribute, a divine promise of abundance, and a surplus after all are fed. John 6 explicitly draws the typological arc from Moses' manna to Elisha to Yeshua. The prophetic formula 'thus says YHWH' grounds the miracle not in Elisha's power but in the divine word—the word that creates what it declares. FOG and FOG Message both retain this formula.
