He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

The flight through the *king's garden* gate carries a haunting echo of Eden — the garden from which humanity was expelled after covenant rupture (Gen. 3:23–24). Tzidkiyahu flees through a garden into the wilderness just as Adam was driven from the garden into a cursed ground. FOG retains *Kasdim* (the ethnic-geographic name for the Babylonians) and *Aravah* (the Jordan Rift Valley wilderness corridor); FOG Message uses traditional English equivalents.
