The 'Wadi of Mitzrayim' (*nahar Mitzrayim*) is most likely the Wadi el-Arish, a seasonal desert torrent marking the traditional southern boundary of Canaan — not the Nile River. FOG uses 'Wadi' (the precise geographical term for a dry riverbed) and 'River Prat' (the Hebrew name for the Euphrates) to preserve geographic texture; FOG Message uses 'Brook of Egypt' and 'Euphrates' for familiarity. The verse encapsulates a seismic geopolitical shift: Bavel has permanently displaced Mitzrayim as the dominant regional superpower, from the Sinai frontier to Mesopotamia.
