He declared to him, 'This is what Yahweh says: Because you sent messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron — as though there were no God in Israel whose word you could seek — therefore you will never leave the bed you have climbed into. You will certainly die.'
He said to him, 'Thus says YHWH: Because you sent messengers to seek counsel from Ba'al-Zevuv, the god of Ekron — as if there were no Elohim in Yisra'el whose word you could seek — therefore from the bed you have gone up to you shall not come down; you will die, yes die.'
And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
And Elijah said to King Ahaziah, “This is what the LORD says: Is there really no God in Israel for you to inquire of His word? Is that why you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not get up from the bed on which you are lying. You will surely die.”
