ἁμαρτίαν ἐποίησεν ("made sin") is deliberately stark—while ἁμαρτία can render the Hebrew חַטָּאת (haṭṭāʾt, sin offering) in the LXX (cf. Lev 4–5), Paul uses the raw term for sin itself. Both readings carry weight: the sin-offering reading grounds this in Levitical typology; the "made sin" reading stresses the totality of Messiah's identification with human sinfulness. δικαιοσύνη θεοῦ here is not a divine attribute but a status granted to those ἐν αὐτῷ ("in Him")—righteousness received through union with Messiah.
