He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

σωτηρία (sōtēria) spans rescue, physical safety, and covenantal redemption—it is never merely a spiritual abstraction. F.O.G renders it "deliverance" to foreground the concrete, rescue-from-danger sense that a first-century audience would have felt instinctively; F.O.G Message retains "salvation" to honour the word's full theological freight and its covenantal reach forward to eschatological wholeness.
