*Shikmah* (שִׁקְמָה) — the sycamore-fig, the everyday timber of the *Shephelah* (the Judean coastal foothills)—plentiful, cheap, and entirely unremarkable. By comparing prized cedar to the lowly sycamore-fig, the text declares that under Solomon even the most coveted luxury timber had become commonplace. This is the rhetoric of superabundance: scarcity itself has been abolished under the blessed king. The image is a literary hyperbole, but the theological point is real—wisdom-governed kingship transforms the economy of lack into the economy of gift.
