Footnotes
A textual tension exists: some Hebrew manuscripts and ancient versions read "eight years old," while 2 Kgs 24:8 and the majority of manuscripts read "eighteen." The eighteen-year reading is strongly preferred, as it coheres with the Babylonian administrative records — the *Nebuchadnezzar Chronicles* — which independently confirm details of Jehoiachin's reign and captivity. Both FOG and FOG Message follow the eighteen-year reading.
