*Shabbetoteha* ("her Sabbaths") refers to the sabbatical years mandated in Lev. 25-26, when the land was to lie fallow every seventh year. Lev. 26:34-35 explicitly warns that if Israel refuses the land its Shabbat, the land will "enjoy its Shabbats" during exile — the desolation itself becomes overdue rest. The Chronicler reads the seventy-year exile (Jer. 25:11-12; 29:10) as the land recovering 490 years' worth of neglected sabbaticals (70 × 7). This is not merely punitive but restorative: the land itself is being healed. FOG preserves *Shabbats* to maintain covenantal specificity; FOG Message renders "sabbath rests" for readability.
