The Chronicler's editorial hinge is precise: 15:19 records peace through Asa's thirty-fifth year; war breaks out in the thirty-sixth. The chapter opens with a number as a verdict — Asa's faithfulness brought rest; his turn to Aram ended it. The reign that began with seeking YHWH (14:4) now begins to fracture along the same fault line the seer will shortly name.
