In the Hebrew Masoretic Text this verse is numbered 2 Chronicles 13:23, with the English chapter 14 beginning at Hebrew 14:2 — all subsequent verse numbers in chapter 14 are therefore shifted by one between traditions. The ten-year *shaqat* (שָׁקַט — stillness, undisturbed rest) is a Chronicler's theological marker: rest is the fruit of covenant faithfulness, an echo of the Sabbath rest YHWH promised the land (Lev. 26:34). FOG reflects the Hebrew pacing of simple factual sequence; FOG Message draws out the narrative breath — rest arriving as a gift after Aviyah's turbulent reign.
