Henos andros gynē — literally 'a one-man woman' — is the precise female counterpart to 'one-woman man' (mias gynaikos andra) required of overseers and deacons in 3:2,12. It almost certainly does not mean simply 'married only once' (which would disqualify godly widows who remarried after a first husband's death), but rather commends singular devotion and sexual faithfulness within marriage. The FOG preserves the literal idiom 'one-man woman' to maintain the verbal symmetry with chapter 3; the FOG Message unpacks it as 'faithful to one husband.'
