μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρα ("one-woman man") is left deliberately literal in both versions, since the Greek resists easy resolution: it may mean married only once, sexually faithful within marriage, or simply a man of unblemished relational integrity — each reading has ancient advocates. φιλόξενον = "lover of strangers" — hospitality (xenia) in antiquity carried deep covenantal and social obligation; the FOG renders this with its fuller relational weight rather than the softer English "hospitable."
