ὑβριστήν (hybristēn) carries the full weight of ὕβρις — not merely violence but insolent, outrageous assault that demeans and dishonours the victim: active contempt embodied in action. FOG renders it "violent arrogance" to capture both the physical and attitudinal dimensions; FOG Message uses "insolent aggressor" to hold both the aggression and the contempt in one phrase.
