*Vayifrtzu-vo avadav v'gam-ha'isha* (וַיִּפְרְצוּ-בוֹ עֲבָדָיו וְגַם-הָאִשָּׁה)—'and his servants and also the woman broke through/pressed him.' *Paratz* (פָּרַץ) means to break through a barrier, to urge with force—the same root used when YHWH 'breaks out' against enemies. There is a quietly devastating tenderness here: the king of Israel, told he will die tomorrow, must be coaxed into eating bread by servants and a woman he came to in disguise. Royalty, prophecy, and power have all collapsed. What remains is human care. FOG renders 'urged him strongly'; FOG Message's 'pressed him urgently until he finally gave in' captures the gentle insistence of *paratz*.
