Sha'ul's stripping (*vayipshot begadav*) and falling *arom* — 'naked' or 'stripped bare' — before Shmu'el is a shattering humiliation of royal power. The word *arom* resonates with Gen. 2:25 (the naked innocence of Adam) and Gen. 3:7 (the shame of exposure after the Fall) — the king is undone, his sovereignty dissolved. The proverb 'Is Sha'ul also among the prophets?' first appeared at his anointing in 1 Sam. 10:11, where it carried wonder; here it returns with bitter irony — the man hunting YHWH's anointed is laid flat before the prophet, made a spectacle by the very Spirit he has defied. FOG renders *arom* as 'naked,' preserving the raw physicality; FOG Message adds 'prostrate… powerless' to draw out the theological inversion: the king becomes the undone man, the persecutor becomes the prophet's supplicant.
