Saul said, 'Tell David: the king wants no bride-price in silver—only a hundred Philistine foreskins, to avenge himself on his enemies.' Saul was scheming to have the Philistines kill David for him.
Sha'ul said, 'This is what you shall say to Dawid: "The king desires no mohar—only one hundred foreskins of the P'lishtim, to exact vengeance on the king's enemies."' For Sha'ul intended to make Dawid fall by the hand of the P'lishtim.
And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.
Saul replied, “Say to David, ‘The king desires no other dowry but a hundred Philistine foreskins as revenge on his enemies.’” But Saul intended to cause David’s death at the hands of the Philistines.
