Three Hebrew words are used for prayer here: tefillah (formal prayer), techinah (supplication — from chanan, 'grace'), and rinnah (a ringing cry of longing/joy — the same word used for exuberant worship-song). Rinnah conveys urgent, passionate, almost musical petition. The progression from formal prayer to supplication to ringing cry traces an ascending emotional arc. FOG renders it 'cry of longing'; FOG Message uses 'heartfelt cry' to capture its emotional intensity.
