*Beroshim* (בְּרוֹשִׁים) is variously rendered cypress, fir, juniper, or pine (the LXX uses *peuke*). The contrast with the wild-olive doors of the Devir is architecturally and theologically deliberate: the innermost threshold uses the more sacred oil-wood, while the outer hall uses a different timber, marking a gradient of holiness from outside to inside. The folding design of the outer doors (*gelilim*, panels or revolving leaves) allowed them to open wide—accessibility diminishing as one moved inward toward the Holy of Holies. FOG uses 'cypress' as the most probable identification; FOG Message preserves the same.
