*Mitgorer* (מִתְגּוֹרֵר)—'sojourning, living as a stranger'—shares its root with *ger* (גֵּר), the biblical term for a resident alien under covenant protection. Eliyahu uses his own outsider status to appeal to YHWH's obligation to guard the vulnerable—aligning himself with the widow, not above her. The prayer is raw and accusatory, a lament bordering on protest. FOG preserves 'sojourn' to keep the ger resonance alive; FOG Message uses 'living with' for natural readability.
