Jeroboam established a festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth month — a deliberate mirror of Judah's great feast — and went up to the altar in Bethel to offer sacrifices to the calves he had made. He also installed at Bethel the priests of the high places he had appointed.
Yarov'am instituted a festival in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the festival in Yehudah, and he went up to the altar — thus he did in Beit-El — sacrificing to the calves he had made. He stationed in Beit-El the priests of the high places he had made.
