Paul uses ναός (the inner sanctuary — the Holy Place and Holy of Holies, where the Shekinah dwelt) rather than ἱερόν (the broader temple precinct and outer courts). The community is not merely associated with the sacred precinct — they are the most holy place itself, the locus of the divine Presence. The F.O.G renders "Ruach" (רוּחַ) to keep the Jewish resonance of breath-presence alive — the same word as the Spirit hovering over the waters in Genesis 1; the F.O.G Message uses "Spirit makes His home" to draw out the warmth and intimacy of the indwelling, with a quiet echo of John 1's "tabernacled among us."
