παίζειν (paizein) — the LXX word in Exodus 32:6 describing Yisra'el's behaviour at the golden calf. While it can mean simply "to play," in its ancient Near Eastern cultic context it carries unmistakable erotic and orgiastic connotations. English "play" completely flattens this; both versions render it as "revel/revelry" to hint at the charged, licentious nature of the festival Sha'ul has in mind.
