The closing note on *gibbore chayil* ('mighty men of valour/force') who were *doreke qeshet* ('treaders of the bow'—i.e., those who brace the bow with the foot to string it, implying trained, powerful archers) is characteristic of Benjaminite military identity throughout Scripture. Benjamin was renowned for elite fighters: left-handed slingers (Judg 20:16), archers (1 Sam 31:3), and later David's Benjaminite warriors (1 Chron 12:2). The genealogy closes not with abstract ancestry but with living military capacity—the tribe's worth measured in trained warriors and fruitful offspring. A tribe that nearly faced extinction in the civil war of Judges 20–21 has become, by the Chronicler's time, 150 strong in a single family line alone. FOG uses 'archers' to honour the participle's literal force; FOG Message adds 'skilled' to capture its active, trained sense.
