The phrase *mi-yad YHWH alai hiskil* (מִיַּד יְהוָה עָלַי הִשְׂכִּיל) is remarkable: 'from the hand of YHWH upon me, He gave understanding.' David claims the Temple blueprints were *divinely revealed*—not drawn from architectural convention, Phoenician temple models, or human ingenuity, but received as if from God's own hand. This directly parallels Moses receiving the *tabnit* (תַּבְנִית, pattern/design—the same word used in vv. 11–12 here) of the Tabernacle on Sinai (Exod. 25:9, 40), where every detail was an earthly copy of a heavenly original (cf. Heb. 8:5). The verb *hiskil* (הִשְׂכִּיל, from *sekhel*) means not merely to inform but to grant *comprehension*—YHWH did not hand David a blueprint; He illuminated his understanding.
