He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

The Chronicler inserts this parenthetical note to explain a geographical tension: the official Mosaic *Mishkan* with its altar sat at Giv'on/Gibeon, yet David sacrifices at Ornan's threshing floor in Jerusalem. The parenthesis sets up verse 30 and — far more profoundly — anticipates the theological case for a permanent Temple. The portable *Mishkan*'s era is ending; the new, fixed locus of divine presence is being established on the very ground David has just purchased at great cost. FOG transliterates *Mishkan* (מִשְׁכָּן, the 'dwelling place') to honour the Hebrew term; FOG Message uses 'Tabernacle,' its established theological equivalent in English.
