Some from Manasseh defected to David when he came with the Philistines against Saul in battle. But he did not end up helping them, for the Philistine lords, after deliberation, sent him away, saying, "He will turn back to his master Saul and it will cost us our heads."
And some of Menashe defected to David when he came with the Pelishtim against Sha'ul to battle. But he did not help them, for the commanders of the Pelishtim by counsel sent him away, saying, "He will defect to his master Sha'ul at the cost of our heads."
And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
Some from Manasseh defected to David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (They did not help the Philistines because the Philistine rulers consulted and sent David away, saying, “It will cost us our heads if he defects to his master Saul.”)
