Crossing the Yarden/Jordan at flood stage in the first month deliberately echoes Joshua 3–4, where all Israel crossed at the same season when the river "overflows all its banks" (Joshua 3:15). The Gadites' crossing is a quiet typological reprise of the conquest entry: same river, same impossible timing, same God. The Chronicler preserves the echo without commentary, trusting the reader to hear it. The rout of valley dwellers in all directions reinforces that this is not merely a military feat but a covenantal one. FOG renders "Yarden" to heighten the sonic connection to Joshua; FOG Message expands "surged far beyond" to capture the dramatic scale of the moment.
