When Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.

When Judas, who had betrayed Jesus, saw that the Messiah was condemned, crushing remorse overwhelmed him. Tormented by guilt, he rushed to return the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and elders – blood money that now burned in his conscience.
