Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables. He did not tell them anything without using a parable.

[34] Jesus used these stories when speaking to the crowds. In fact, He didn't teach them without using stories.

All these things spake Jesus in similes to the multitudes, and without a simile he was not speaking to them,
