Isn't He Mary's son, the eldest brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? Don't His sisters still live right here among us?" Their familiarity with His ordinary beginnings became a stumbling block, preventing them from recognizing His extraordinary calling.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?’—and they were being stumbled at him.
