While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, He told them this parable:

When a great multitude came together, and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable.

(4) Now a large crowd came together and accordingly ones from the cities journeyed to Him and He spoke through a riddle.

[4] A massive crowd gathered from every surrounding town, drawn by stories of hope and transformation. Jesus seized this teaching moment with a story that would challenge their assumptions about spiritual growth.
