Because of this, some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said, “How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was division among them.

[16] Division erupted among the Pharisees. Some declared, "This Jesus cannot be from God - He breaks the Sabbath law!" But others argued, "How could a sinner perform such miraculous signs?" Their rigid systems of belief were being challenged.
