“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time to be born?”

Nakdimon says to Him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?’

[4] Nicodemus struggled with this metaphor, his logical mind wrestling with its implications. "How can someone possibly be born again when they're already old?" he asked. "They can't enter their mother's womb a second time to be born, can they?" Nicodemus, perplexed, said to Him, ‘How can a grown man be born again? Surely there is no way he can go back into his mother’s womb to be born a second time!’

Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How is a man able to be born, being old? is he able into the womb of his mother a second time to enter, and to be born?’
