For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.

Berean Standard Bible (BSB)

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

World English Bible (WEB)

For{G1063} the flesh{G4561} lusteth{G1937}{(G5719)} against{G2596} the Spirit{G4151}, and{G1161} the Spirit{G4151} against{G2596} the flesh{G4561}: and{G1161} these{G5023} are contrary{G480}{(G5736)} the one to the other{G240}: so that{G2443} ye cannot{G3363} do{G4160}{(G5725)} the things{G5023} that{G3739}{G302} ye would{G2309}{(G5725)}.

(17) For the flesh lusts against The רוּחַ Ruach-Spirit and The רוּחַ Ruach-Spirit is against the flesh. For these oppose one another, so that you might not do things which perhaps you want.

[17] For our selfish nature fights against the Spirit, and the Spirit fights against our selfish nature. These two forces are constantly battling each other, so you aren't free to carry out your good intentions.
The F.O.G Paraphrase

for the flesh doth desire contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit contrary to the flesh, and these are opposed one to another, that the things that ye may will—these ye may not do;
