Or a chosen church and her children members. ‘Chosen Lady’ could be a bridal metaphor that John is using. Some even speculate that this could refer to Mary, the mother of Jesus, as the most chosen Lady of all in the Bible. The capitalisation of ‘Lady’ is deliberate, as it is the Greek feminine form of ‘Lord’ or ‘Master’, similar to ‘Lady of the Manor’, for example.
