(6) But they resisted and slanderously-blasphemed. He shaked out his garments, saying to them, "Your blood upon your heads! I'm clean! From now on I will go to the Gentile-peoples."

[6] But when his own people met this message with hostile rejection and bitter insults, Paul performed a solemn symbolic act. Shaking the dust from his clothes, he declared with heavy heart, "Your blood is upon your own heads - I stand clear before God. From this moment forward, I will bring this message of hope to the non-Jewish people."

and on their resisting and speaking evil, having shaken his garments, he said unto them, ‘Your blood is upon your head—I am clean; henceforth to the nations I will go on.’
