[14] Peter's response revealed how deeply ingrained his Jewish dietary laws were: "Surely not, Lord! I have never eaten anything impure or unclean." His protest showed how challenging it can be when God pushes us beyond our religious comfort zones.

And Peter said, ‘Not so, Lord; because at no time did I eat anything common or unclean;’
