It is interesting how the quote from Isaiah is changed here. Isaiah doesn’t say, “Didn’t commit sin,” but rather, “Didn’t commit violence.” This seems like an accurate definition of sin to me: anything that violently violates either God or our fellow man. As Jesus masterfully taught us, sin begins in our minds. For example, a man who longs for another man’s wife is already committing adultery with her. Adultery is indeed an act of violent betrayal to the husband of this woman.
