[12] Peter, however, had to know for himself. He jumped up and ran to the tomb, his sandals slapping against the path. Reaching the entrance, he bent down to peer inside and saw only the linen grave clothes lying there, empty and neatly arranged. Amazed and confused, he walked back home, his mind wrestling with what this could possibly mean.

And Peter having risen, did run to the tomb, and having stooped down he seeth the linen clothes lying alone, and he went away to his own home, wondering at that which was come to pass.
