[9] Until this moment, they hadn't grasped that the Scriptures had prophesied the Messiah must rise from the dead. Their knowledge of Scripture had not yet connected with this revolutionary reality.

for not yet did they know the Writing, that it behoveth him out of the dead to rise again.
