So the LORD God appointed a vine, and it grew up to provide shade over Jonah’s head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was greatly pleased with the plant.

Yahweh God prepared a vine, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to deliver him from his discomfort. So Jonah was exceedingly glad because of the vine.

And the LORD{H3068} God{H430} prepared{H4487}{(H8762)} a gourd{H7021}, and made it to come up{H5927}{(H8799)} over Jonah{H3124}, that it might be a shadow{H6738} over his head{H7218}, to deliver{H5337}{(H8687)} him from his grief{H7451}. So Jonah{H3124} was exceeding{H1419}{H8057} glad{H8055}{(H8799)} of the gourd{H7021}.

So יהוה Yahweh God, accounted for a *castor-oil plant, and it grew up over Yonah to be shade over his head, to save him from his evil [misery]. Yonah was extremely happy about this castor-oil plant.
