You must redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a lamb; but if you do not redeem it, you are to break its neck. You must redeem all the firstborn of your sons. No one shall appear before Me empty-handed.

The firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb: and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. No one shall appear before me empty.

But the firstling{H6363} of an ass{H2543} thou shalt redeem{H6299}{(H8799)} with a lamb{H7716}: and if thou redeem{H6299}{(H8799)} him not, then shalt thou break his neck{H6202}{(H8804)}.
