Thus the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun would not leave the tent.

Yahweh spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn’t depart out of the Tent.

And the LORD{H3068} spake{H1696}{(H8765)} unto Moses{H4872} face{H6440} to face{H6440}, as a man{H376} speaketh{H1696}{(H8762)} unto his friend{H7453}. And he turned again{H7725}{(H8804)} into the camp{H4264}: but his servant{H8334}{(H8764)} Joshua{H3091}, the son{H1121} of Nun{H5126}, a young man{H5288}, departed{H4185}{(H8686)} not out{H8432} of the tabernacle{H168}.
