The exact definition of these professions is hard to pin down but other translations include astrologists, fortune telling priests, exorcists, mediums and magicians. The exact definition of these ancient career types isn't as important as the message; someone lead by the Spirit of יהוה (Yahweh) will be head and shoulders above someone using lesser powers.
