[10] But the Master's day will arrive with the startling suddenness of a thief's midnight break-in. The heavens will disappear with a thunderous roar, the basic elements will melt in intense heat, and the earth with all humanity's proud achievements will be laid bare before His penetrating gaze.
Young's Literal Translation
and it will come—the day of the Lord—as a thief in the night, in which the heavens with a rushing noise will pass away, and the elements with burning heat be dissolved, and earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.
