So Ahab answered the messengers of Ben-hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you demanded of your servant the first time I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” So the messengers departed and relayed the message to Ben-hadad.

Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do; but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers departed, and brought him back the message.

Wherefore he said{H559}{(H8799)} unto the messengers{H4397} of Benhadad{H1130}, Tell{H559}{(H8798)} my lord{H113} the king{H4428}, All that thou didst send{H7971}{(H8804)} for to thy servant{H5650} at the first{H7223} I will do{H6213}{(H8799)}: but this thing{H1697} I may{H3201}{(H8799)} not do{H6213}{(H8800)}. And the messengers{H4397} departed{H3212}{(H8799)}, and brought{H7725} him word{H1697} again{H7725}{(H8686)}.
