[3] Paul's response crackled with righteous anger: "God will strike you instead, you whitewashed wall! You sit there claiming to judge me according to the Law, yet you violate that very Law by ordering me to be struck without cause. What kind of justice is this?"

then Paul said unto him, ‘God is about to smite thee, thou whitewashed wall, and thou—thou dost sit judging me according to the law, and, violating law, dost order me to be smitten!’
