Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could not see a thing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

[8] When Saul finally rose from the ground, he opened his eyes to find himself completely blind. His companions had to lead him by the hand into Damascus—the very city he had approached as a powerful persecutor, he now entered as a helpless man.
