(10) For the sorrow in accordance with אֱלֹהִים Elohim-God accomplishes a returning into carefree salvation but the sorrow of this world produces death.

[10] You see, godly sorrow - the kind that יהוה uses to pierce our hearts - produces a life-transforming repentance that leads to salvation. This divine work leaves no regrets! But worldly sorrow - mere guilt without transformation - leads only to spiritual and emotional death.
